The 13th Note in King Street. Venerable vegetarian venue with the bands playing in the basement.

Another venerable venue with a decent sized music venue downstairs.

I don't recall ever setting foot in this venue but bands did play there.  Still in operation as a nightclub under a different name. Many different names it would seem.

Live local bands played, and still do, in the window.  Long opening hours make it a perennial favourite with students and vampires.

Now a bar/restaurant called Munros. The Captain's Rest - in the best Glasgow tradition - had a venue in its basement (along with the gent's toilet). A mix of cult (?) touring bands and local bands played there. When the Captain's Rest closed, the music moved to Broadcast on Sauchiehall Street.

The music was actually in the adjacent building at the right of the frame. Mostly local bands played here but, as The Halt was a proper boozer, you had somewhere to go if the tunes did not suit you.

Still here to this day and still a predominately rock venue. Unremarkable in terms of interior or exterior decor.

King Tuts will probably be here for the rest of time. With the lack of touring bands these days, it now has a lot of local band nights.

Home to the Free Candy Sessions for many a year, downstairs at The Liquid Ship gave many a singer songwriter or local band a place with a supportive audience. Became Roxy 171 and then The Hug and Pint.

Music appears now and then in this vegetarian venue. Also home to the rather fine Monorail record shop.

Venerable music venue featuring local bands and also those not of the mainstream. Up stairs bar is something of an institution in Glasgow nightlife mythology.
