The follow up to her 2003 release is certainly another fine effort from this much underrated performer.  Again Renee demonstrates her ability to mix blues with influences drawn for other genres, in particular country and southern soul.

The highlight of the set is undoubtedly "Mouth of the Delta", a soulful and bluesy storm of sound that will have you reaching for the repeat button on your remote.  "Harder Than It Has To Be" showcases Renee's husky vocal delivery and has more of a country influence; while with "Thank You Card" we have a wonderful piece of gospel inspired music and harmonies.  The pick of the rest are a cover of Bobbie Gentry's "Bugs"; the plain and simple good time rockin' blues of "Chicken Coop", and the gorgeous sounding and touching "Right About Love".

As with the previous release when Renee hits the highs she does so with style.  And she does it often enough to ensure that you certainly won't be disappointed by this offering.
