Organic vegetables are good for you. So are heavily processed plant food equivalents to actual food if the marketing machine is to be believed. What about “A Point Blank Dream” by The Home Current? Would this be an album that is actually good for you?

A good question indeed. The Home Current – aka Danish producer Martin Jensen – has been making music for electric SUV owning suburban dwellers for some time now and his mastery of loops is, and always has been, clearly evident. He knows his potential audience well and, in an object lesson in keeping the cool kids permanently onside, these twelve songs cleverly weave enough in the way irony to escape any accusations of millennial targeted sonic mediocrity while the more attentive amongst you will be able to recognise and enjoy the notable influence of dancefloor beats from yesterday and the day before on all that happens herein.

Some might even accuse “A Point Blank Dream” of being antiseptic but we should all remember that antiseptics are good for you and, in this processed reality, The Home Current might well be perfect for your sound system.

Available on vinyl from Bandcamp if you still like to go physical.
