"Halloween" proves to be a laidback song distinguished by a plaintive fiddle that underpins and indeed compliments the lead vocals. It's all a bit Arcade Fire, of course, with those traditional moments mixed in with big rock choruses. Having said that, even though it might well have been done before, this is cooked to perfection. I like a bit of drama, you see.
Dogfight, in comparison, is almost relentlessly energetic in its approach. Pumping up the volume more than a bit, this song shows a near Tigger level of bounce making me think that it will go down a storm live.
