Oh no, I'm dancing again. And my name isn't John. You know the drill by now. You go to see a band. Let's call them Big Baby Ernie. They are selling CDs. Let's call the CD "My Rhythm". You buy the CD. You listen to it. You like it. Then you have to write about it. That's a bit of a challenge when your feet can't stay still.

This is late night music but it doesn't fit into the easy listening genre. You don't rest to this band's music and it certainly won't put you to sleep. There's even an extended medley featuring styles all the way from urban funk (Why Oh Why") to northern soul ("No Love Songs") to ensure that you keep moving. Ernie DeLuise has got a distinctive voice and that puts the soulful icing on the cake made up of one the tightest rhythm sections in the business. He is what Jamiroquoi thinks he is. The man sweats soul and no more so than in the album's mellower moments like "Crazy Crazy" or "Hotel Restaurant".

Not that there is a shortage of music on this album but, even so, there's even some bonus tracks including the truly sublime "John Lennon Lives In My Piano". Best song on the album if you ask me.

From New Jersey to you, Big Baby Ernie shake the soulful funk thing all the way.
