So, you're in this bar and this band - well, a duo - are playing. They're doing a nice line in offbeat and oddball country songs. They would be The Dirt. They also had a four track EP.

"Built This Church" mixes musical motifs from a Spaghetti Western soundtrack with quirky lyrics to entertaining effect while the more conventional acoustic pleasures of "I Saw You" recall Carter and Cash. Well at least it would if it weren't for it having the kind of theme that would get you barred from the Grand Ole Opry.

"Flowers" proves to be the most conventional - and indeed elegant - song on this EP. With a bit of harmonica and banjo picking to help those world weary harmonies, it's a star of a song. Rounding off the EP is a live version of "Diamond In The Rough".

Four songs that will bring a smile to your face. You can't complain about that.
