Right, start with the background information. Redgap come from the Isle of Man and are made up of Joanne Earner, Barry Nelson, Val Nelson, and Adam Cubbon and "Under A Different Sky" is their debut album.

Maybe it is the whole hailing from an island thing but this doesn't sound like an album from a big city band. At least not a British big city band anyway. There are harmonies aplenty for a start. Proper sunshine harmonies that make you think of somewhere like California and their cover of Crosby Stills Nash and Young's "Helplessly Hoping" reinforces this feeling. Slick, warm and affecting pretty much sums thing up. Well, nearly all.

The star of the show, so to speak is Joanne Earner's voice. She spins passion into "Dark Heart", adds depth and complexity to "Good Lovin'", brings the mellow, jazzy "Lady Luck" to the boil and turns into a scorching siren in the bluesy "Wasn't It Enough".

"Under A Different Sky" is an accomplished, slick and enjoyable album but there is heart in there too. (Sigh) Back in love again…
