Right, another single from Paper Planes and it is another one that is going to sound at home on vinyl. In other words, it's got that retro feel from a time when all good music got created in garages.
Sitting on top is "The Sway" and it is not going to waste much of your precious thinking time clocking in at little over 2 minutes. Starting off with angry guitars bouncing off quasi disco beats before it falls off the stage and goes all arty, Jennifer Paley smokes out the words half sung, half talked like some crazy woman quoting from a detective novel while holding a beer in one hand and a knife in the other. A song like this is pure attitude - the kind of attitude that you only get after late night drinking and hanging about in badly lit clubs.
Hiding below is another retro trip called "Disconnected or What" that casts back to early Blondie or The Nuns. It's almost irritatingly cool and hummable but it has got street cred stamped all over its considerable charms.
God, I wish I was cool.
