God, this is primitive and sounds about as far as you can get from the polished sounds of Saturday night television. Thee Phantom Herd's "Lordy" is angry urban blues that stumbles out of your speakers to steal your television and leave a trail of devastation behind it.

Recorded live - so it says here - and that was probably a good idea as capturing this band's sonic anguish in a studio overdub wouldn't be easy. For a start, there's that half mad on whisky guitar that can't make up its mind whether it's angry or sad but either way, that kind of playing only ever comes from the soul

Bluesy in a start a revolution kind of way, Thee Phantom Herd spit fire at you with this song. You can tell they are the kind of guys that wear aviation fuel for aftershave as it makes smoking so much more of a gamble.

Available on a split vinyl 7" with "Santa Muerte Murder Songs" from The Bonnevilles.
