And out of the mists of time - well, December 2009 to be precise - came this seven inch piece of vinyl from Glasgow ska monsters The Amphetameanies. It's a double A too featuring "Nothing's OK" on one side and "Good One Go" on the flip.
The Amphetameanies are known for writing down to earth songs and "Nothing's OK" fits right in with that approach as another little real life tale bounces out of the speakers with near plaintive female vocals holding the song together until a spirited dash of guitars and keyboards provokes a bit of the old dancing.
"Good One Go" is relatively restrained by Ampheatmeanie standards. Staccato rhythms power the song in the best ska fashion and there's a big chorus too. It's very nearly a happy sing-along song but there is also a feeling that this band's freight train was running a bit low on steam towards the end.
Nonetheless, these two songs will keep the band's many fans happy and, if you get the chance, go see them live.
