There will always be a need for bouncy pop music. It's a given, just as the popularity of junk food is. Stevie and the Moon are out to satisfy that need judging by this mini album.
From the upbeat exuberance of "Tick Tock World" to the almost embarrassingly radio friendly "Born Again", there's evidence of some very commercial song writing ability. Even when he suffers a Ricky Ross moment ("Set This Fire"), Stevie McCrorie still keeps lifting it higher with the sheer passion of his performance and while he can't quite hold it together on (distinctly pedestrian) "Old Traditions", it is easy to forgive him for that.
So while "These Old Traditions" might be a mini album, it's clear that Stevie and the Moon aren't short of ambition.
