As much as I like to be nationalistic even I have to admit that pop music seems a bit of lost art over here while in America you can barely cross a road without getting hit by a hummable tune.
One such tune is "Ordinary Girl by Matthew Glenn Thompson. He's from Memphis but this ain't rock 'n' roll being more of a summer playing in the car with the top down kind of song. There's a girl in the lyrics (as there should be, of course) and there's a hook that will simply stick in your head. Mr Thompson clearly has the kind of pop sensibilities that you would expect of Squeeze or, if you'd prefer a more modern reference, Gary B & The Notions and any song that makes you smile is just fine with me.
