Eclectic – that’s the word I’m looking for. Or maybe eccentric? Certainly there’s nothing remotely mainstream about the music that emanates from the Super Adventure Club. They’re not even art house being more skewed than significant with “Hip Hop Hot Pot Noodle” swerving around your expectations before ramraiding your ears and leaving you wondering what happened there? Quirkily delicious.
Super Adventure Club can’t even do a standard song title and illustrating that point is “17th Century Ambassador of Strong Swimmers”. What’s the song like? Well, imagine Vivien Stanshall on some low class drugs taking a journey into the conundrums of a housing scheme. Last one to grab the ears is the nearly conventional “Built-In Redundancy” but even that is a bit strange.
Eclectic or eccentric? Does it really matter? No, because no one could ever accuse this band of being boring.
