Weird Wives are from Florida and that’s about all I know about them. Well maybe not everything as from these two songs, I would surmise that they have been possessed by some tormented spirit. Enough of the psychoanalysis, I hear you say, what does “Head Bugs” sound like? Fuzzed out swamp rock guitars and distracted drummers with quasi Tarzan jungle calls thrown in – that’s what. The lyrics? – probably the psychotic ramblings of a madman or is there perhaps some deeper meaning. Who knows and asking questions isn’t going to enlighten you any further.

As for “Wet Blanket”, it’s a lo-fi discordant minimalist song tramping through a Jesus and Mary Chain impersonation with the vocals well and truly lost in reverb. A sonic slap in the face if you like. You might not like it but, like the man said, open your mind! Or crash your model car.

Epic lo-fi shenanigans that mess with your head. What more could a man want?

Available as part of a split tape (that would be a cassette tape) with The Band in Heaven and as a download from Bandcamp.
