Ah! A female fronted rock band. In fact, a female fronted rock band from Edinburgh at that so there’s got to be room for a few clichés.  And indeed there are but Revelry appear to be a band that can carry off the task of mining clichés better than most.

The songs themselves are pretty much what with you would expect of an aspiring rock band with the notable exceptions of “Save Me” and “Best Day of My Life” that show stadium potential. There is much more to be admired in the performances here with solid moments of rifftasticity from the lead guitarist Colin to inspire you towards a bit of the old air guitar and the curiously effective lead vocals from Louise even if she did sometimes sound like she was hitting the red line just to avoid being dragged down into the mix.

So, this EP is not without its charms and, with the addition of a little sparkle, I reckon that Revelry could do well.
