Err… I think someone just recreated the opening sequence to the “Six Million Dollar Man” series and stuck it at the front of their album. An unusual start for sure but unfortunately the potential humour of that particular blast off point was immediately lost and replaced with a deadly serious technical exercise on rock guitar pyrotechnics that didn’t know when to stop for a commercial break.

There’s no doubting Shouse’s technical abilities on the electric guitar but skill alone isn’t enough to give value to an album for the songs here are universally uninspiring and possessed of such déjà vu that even the psychically challenged will be able to predict the next extended solo. However, and now that I think about it, there is an actual commercial use for these songs. They would all fit perfectly as cues on the soundtrack of an American television cop series set in the nineties.

“Alone On The Sun”? I can see that happening.
