It's easy to use bands in Glasgow as target practice as they so often confuse mediocrity with individuality. However, mediocrity is a description that can't be applied to the Girobabies if the evidence provided by their single "Countdown To Tinnitus" is credible.

And it is. It's a downbeat song both lyrically and sonically but it takes an unpretentious run at big city frustrations and puts them to music. The guitar buzz and drone, the drums laconic almost to a fault, the vocals weary but standing tall spit out words like "&8230; I broke through the Ten commandments like a cat with Nine lives" like there was still a point in saying anything at all about anything. "Countdown To Tinnitus" isn't a song that wants to make friends. It is more a song that makes you think.
