Take three guys playing their 'A' game and give them a name. In fact, let's call them the Joe Krown Trio for that is indeed their name.  Perhaps unsurprisingly give that the band are based in New Orleans, their album "Triple Threat" has an easy going charm and relaxed musicality that you rarely encounter these days.

The songs might not push any boundaries lyrically but that's hardly the point. "Last Two Dollars" tells an age old story of the vagaries of fortune whilst spinning out the kind of slick workout that readily establishes Walter Washington, Russell Batiste Jr. and Joe Krown himself as musical force s that are to be reckoned with.  Joe Krown's Hammond organ is to the fore on many of the songs with the gospel flavoured "Ridin' Thru The Mountains" standing tall in a forest of feelgood tunes.

There a considerable amount of blue collar (and white collar) pleasure to be derived from an album like this. Had a long hard week at the office or factory? Pour yourself a beer or three for the Joe Krown Trio are going to take you on a trip through all your memories and still leave you smiling. I shall happily drink to that!
