The things you find in record shops in Germany part insert a number big enough to represent the pain the credit card suffered…things like Colleen Green doing the Californian lo-fi fuzzy guitar thing. These four songs – on vinyl, natch, are positively cute and exhibit a remarkable ability to dumb your entire day down to sugary drinks and sunshine.

I'm not exactly sure how Colleen Green pulled that particular trick off but the buzzing stoner grove that drives "Green One" along is almost irritatingly catchy. I don't know what was in her parent's record collection although I suspect a Van Halen album must have been in there as that is exactly where that riff sitting atop those cheesy plastic drums sounds like it comes from.  "Y Do U Call Me?", on the other hand sounds like a Spector period Ramones track misappropriated by a well-intentioned girl and "I'm Leaving It Up To You" is similarly classic girl group splattered with modern day teen angst.

With this EP came a curious little comic strip that appeared to contain references to illegal substances. Not that I would know anything about that, of course.
