This won't take long, as the actress said to the bishop…there are times when you just know that an album is likely to find itself in the bargain bins. It is an unfortunate fact of life but one that is true of Ian McFeron's album "Summer Nights".

In its favour is the relaxed musicianship of the supporting players and the tasteful and complimentary production by Doug Lancio but there little otherwise to distinguish Ian McFeron from the surfeit of anodyne Americana singer songwriters ploughing a very similar musical furrow.  The songs are pretty much by the book and the limitations of Mr McFeron's voice absorbs any impact that they might have had.

It's not all depressing though as I did get a chuckle from the press release that extols the virtues of this album as "chronicling a summer of insomniatic wandering".  Boots keep walking, that's what I say.

And that's all that needs to be said other than you can get it from CD Baby should you feel the need.
