If this were 1975 then Jimmy Dasher's album "The Waiting Game" would be counted as radio friendly. For a start, it has that easy going musicianship that FM radio programmers of that time and place would have taken to and it is clearly aimed at the kind of people who have mature musical tastes.
There's nothing so crude as an obvious single here with each track kind of leading into the next one as if in an experiment in thematic variability. Leading off with the instrumental "6 In The Back" before an easy sidestep into the west coast rock of "Get Burned", Mr Dasher's credentials on the guitar are soon established. True, his vocals might not shine but they were always going to be overshadowed by his abilities on the fretboard. Stylistic variations on a time and place abound with jazz funk cues even creeping into "8 On the Way".
Although a modern recording, "The Waiting Game" feels like it belongs to a time long since passed possessed, as it is, of things long forgotten like virtuosity. However, if your ears are attuned to such things as organic ability then Jimmy Dasher should do it for you and do it nicely too.
