Blood on the dancefloor but this time it's my kind of dancefloor. I reckon Vernon Sélavy are from somewhere in France or maybe Italy as they just reek of those dodgy French cigarettes.  Voiced by those very cigarettes and some gravel with plenty of reverb on the guitar, "15 Apple Seeds" positively swaggers over its Nick Cave and Chris Isaak influences.

"The River Knows Me" nears gospel in its approach even if it brings forth the resurrection of Boney on its way down the road to despair. Homing in for a role on the soundtrack to a Jim Jarmusch film is the gloriously decadent "The Way It Goes". A genuine four in the morning song if there ever was one.

So how do you know if these songs are imbued with the true spirit of rock 'n' roll? Since you asked I'll answer that question with another question. Do these songs make you want to pour honey on a vegetarian? Damn right they do. Question answered.
