Time for another adventure in European electronic music with our guide this time being Andrès Garcìa & The Ghost. The bio indicates that Andrès Garcìa has been at this for some time so the polish of the finished article – "Haunted Love" – is no surprise.

The album is an eminently likeable one with much in the way of familiarity to be found in these songs and no small amount of wry humour as well with "Wavelengths Passions" self-pollinating by using a trip into the recording studio for inspiration.

The very European minimalism of "Sur Les Wagons" does seem typical of how Andrès Garcìa works but that is hardly a matter for criticism for his talent for turning plastic into a mellow groove is abundantly clear. Of course, that opinion might well have been influenced by the recurring Stevie Wonder style (synthetic ?) harmonica that decorates so many of these songs.

Of the rest of the songs, the retro charm of "All My Tropics" would surely make it stand tall (with an inevitable remix, of course) on the more cultured dance floors as would "The Suite", of course. However, both those songs have to doff their hat to the subtle soundtrack influenced "I Am No Longer" that features an incredibly sultry female vocal. So cool that it is frosted.

"Haunted Love" is the kind of album that you would play in your Audi. Vorsprung durch Technik!
