Fuzzed up folk rock from Texas as Followed By Static release their "Bacon Bear" EP on an uncaring world. Wasting little time, this EP launches with "Trash 2011" where they preach their nihilistic message effectively in what would also make a very suitable stoner anthem. Rather brighter and up-tempo is "Cop Gloves" that merges the protest song into a Texas style psych-pop confection. No doubt we will be hearing this one accompanying an advert on the television soon. Or at least we should be anyway.

"Bacon Bear" goes a little bit demented as its country rock pretensions get subsumed buy twisted guitars and the wry humour in the lyrics which leaves "Hey Skeleton" as the weird one of the bunch but also the closest to garage rock in its conception.

Available on split 12" vinyl from Italian label Way Out There Records with "Personality Profile EP" by John Wesley Coleman III.
