Everybody loves a good song and Juan Zelada is the very man for a good song. Need the proof? Look no further than the soft soul of "The Blues Remain". It's even got some convincing horns to give it that original downhome feel.
In much the way that Eric Lindell brought Alligator records back into the sunshine a few years back (or even Paolo Nutini – oops you'll have to look up who he was), the still unsigned (or more likely, holding out for that better deal) Mr Zelada keeps it all upbeat and oh so eminently catchy. "The Blues Remain" is so well put together that it would sound equally at home on your car stereo as it would be in an advert for air freshener.
A pretty good start for Juan Zelada then but it remains to see if he turns into another housewives' favourite.
