You can just tell when a band has adopted the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Not for them – they go by the name of This Water Kills, by the way – the healthy ways of mineral water and fruit and, likewise, canapés would surely be off their menu. Yes, it's time for one more ride on that post punk rollercoaster.
"Could You Ever" snarls at pretension and threatens to bite the many hands that influenced it as the song maxes itself out in the best three minutes and change tradition. Jimi Riddle gets Lydon level insouciance into the words which, thankfully, is just what the song needs.
"There Was A Boy" – on the digital flipside – manages to squeeze a bit of glam rock into what is little more than an extended chant decorated with demented guitars. Playing it loud is the only way to go.
It's been a (long) while since I've been able to use the word snotty to describe a band but now is the time to do just that.
