There must be dank basements and consequent midnight misbehaviour in Cardiff. There must be. It’s just another city, after all. Little My, however, run up the streets of that city in their cardigans with pockets filled with Haribo if you are to take “Little My’s Fifth” at its face value.

For a start, you get a positively reverential cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “59th Street Bridge Song” that flies by in an instant. Similarly upbeat is “Oh Don’t You Darling” that seems to have been cultivated under the glow of Beach Boy’s sunshine. You can feel the approval of your parents and grandparents already.

“We Will Become Silhouettes” also shows that sugar is close to the heart of Little My but those female led harmonies are just so endearing that you don’t care if a visit to the dentist, or the undertaker, is on the cards. However, the closing song on this EP begs for remix to bring out its deviant Tonetta style intent. All is not as sweet as it seems here. Could a conviction for possession with intent to supply be on the cards? Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Packaged in the adorable WeePop manner, this EP is available in a limited edition of 160 copies from the WeePop website.
