Ah, The Ketamines! They’ve been released on the exalted Hozac label and now this single sneaks out on Britain’s Odd Box Records as part of their Singles Collection. No matter where you might find their music, The Ketamines seem determined to make an impact.
“A Rotten Bond” sounds like a demented hybrid of garage rock and European electro rock as hoarse vocals fight for you attention during the sonic attack initiated by a simple yet aggressive guitar riff, ragged drumming accompanied by the kind of psyched out weirdness that suggests nothing less than decayed decadence. “I YR”, by comparison, swaggers like a spaced out MC5 outtake out on a midnight search for a five and dime. Sterling stuff indeed.
These songs share space on this split vinyl release with The Vignettes. Don’t even ask about the sound quality. Just turn that volume right up.
