Cool, smooth jazz. This early 6 track release from Gaslight District falls neatly into the aforementioned category. The honeyed vocals of Myndie Anjuli lift the songs out of the ordinary. Add the tasteful sax work of Dale Lee and you have a pleasing album.
"Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" and "Anywhere but Here" stand out from the rest of the tracks and move them towards Janis Ian territory. It is all impeccably played but is a little too silky smooth for our liking. So, whilst not an essential purchase, it will not disappoint those who like this type of music. The potential is there, however.
