Here we go. I’m sort of listening and sort of wondering at the same time. There’s something disconnected, almost psychedelic about Slum Of Legs as if therapy failed them and they instead headed into the basement for inspiration and sharp knives. I feel an analysis coming on but these are just songs after all.

Did I say songs? “Begin To Dissolve” crumbles rigid rhythms into an electric soup of things that go beep in the night. All the world is spinning round like a psychotropic roundabout populated with existentialism and reflections on mortality. This song is a weapon tipped with depleted angst and, worryingly, it appears to be aimed right at me.

“Razorblade The Tape” is almost too clever. The literate presentation of obsession seems the aim of this song but, just to confuse the issue, the casual use of melody makes it so friendly to the ear that it is easy, so easy, to miss its inherent anarchy.
