Sometimes a man can get to thinking too much and there is nothing more depressing than looking for a deeper meaning when there isn’t one there. Mocara, fortunately, are not the kind of band that would be associated with depression and their album “Twist My Mind” therefore has more than enough spirit to earn them the badge of festival friendliness.
Shooting up with ska rhythms gives Mocara a respectable amount of foot tapping friendliness but that is the seasoning to the rather more robust rock posturing that is the main ingredient of their songs with “Everyone Is A Critic” being a fine example of their guitar powered musical muscle. On the other side of the commercial coin, so to speak, are “Beg, Steal and Borrow” and “Make Me Move” where Mocara choose the path to widespread appeal.
In summary, “Twist My Mind” is a solid album that will likely make Mocara some new friends.
