I’d better write something quickly as Modern Convenience aren’t hanging about and, likely as not, this album will be finished before the words are written.

You won’t find much in the way of subtlety in these ten songs as the volume is set permanently on max and the crude DIY punk ethos is steering this stolen ’77 Transam straight down route 66 to the beach (or hell if the beach is shut). Mike Bibbs – I’m sure I know that name – is the man without a driving licence and he is merciless in his worship of the days when youth had a voice.

Of the songs, “Count Out” punches like a maniac overdosed on paranoia and “Fuck Off” is so much more than just another relationship song (even if the relationship in question is with life) while “Time Is Up” revisits the past just in time for another fistfight with impending maturity.

Despite the crudity of the presentation, “Fuck with Fire” is a surprisingly refreshing alternative to the corporate click track. Yes, play it loud!

The album is available from Bandcamp.
