Possessed of a strangely compelling, somewhat quirky voice reminiscent of French chanteuses of the sixties such as Francoise Hardy, Katie Sutherland brings us an enjoyable collection of offbeat songs on her 4 track EP.

"Because I Do" has a charming folky feel to the arrangements and takes us on trip around the theme of young love. The theme is revisited again on "Lower Ground" driven along by some simple but effective finger snapping and hand clapping in the arrangement. "The Roses" is haunting and quite sad. "Anymore" impressed us most with its poetic yet surprisingly (for a 19 year old) mature sentiments.

We have seen the signs recently. There will without a doubt be a storm of quality music coming to your ears this summer. This sweet, lilting collection of songs will no doubt be at the forefront. It is the kind of music that makes the Bluesbunny wish he was young again.
