The warm weather puts Bluesbunny in a good mood. Unfortunately, we don't get that much warm weather these days up her in Scotland. We do get lots of rain so we need something to raise our spirits. Something like the 4 tracks on this EP from Donna-Marie.
This is, in fact, a very likeable collection of songs. Performed with a fair degree of verve, the songs will bring a smile to your face. "Holiday from Myself" starts things off in a delightful, jaunty fashion. The best tracks, however, are the stripped back acoustic ones. "Make You Mine" was our favourite and it shows off her best vocal performance in the course a sweet, sentimental song. "Paint the Sky" - the title track - rounds things off in style with a fine, commercial ballad that would sound right at home on the radio.
After these 4 tracks we were left wanting more. There is real talent on show and we hope that we shall be hearing more from her soon. By the way, this EP is a limited edition release so you had better hurry if you want one.
