One day I must go to Nashville for it is heralded as the Emerald City of the music business and is therefore honey to the bees that need to buzz their way to success. That said, there is nothing wrong with having your own private jet so you can’t blame a girl for trying to get ahead and, certainly, Megan Knight makes the necessary effort to get a Cessna Citation with her EP “My Drama.”
These five songs are as commercial as you would find on any major radio playlist and Megan Knight demonstrates that she can drop a hook into any song with the kind of ease that you would expect of Miranda Lambert. Like the aforementioned Ms. Lambert, she can also squeeze more value out of a lyric than you might reasonably expect of anyone on a mission to conquer the country charts.
Her voice duly exudes the necessary confidence and, whilst generally staying just north of anodyne, she clearly has the potential to shout and be heard all the way down Music Row. At the end of the day, it’s called the music business for a reason and Megan Knight, with her EP “My Drama”, provides the proof that she knows the rules of the game. I wish her success.
Best Song: the destined for a radio playlist “My Drama”
