Want to be enchanted? Who doesn’t these days. You could, of course, just tune out and trip on or you could just stop and listen to “Four For A Boy” by Alison Eales.
“Four For A Boy” is just a four song EP so it won’t take up much of your time but that time will be time well spent. The arrangements of all these songs is sparse to say the least yet there is no doubt that they will leave you feeling full rather than empty for Alison Eales has a voice that makes you believe in sugar and spice and all things nice yet, with lyrical literacy holding her hand, she takes you on for a stroll through the fields that you won’t want to end.
Four songs is all you get and four songs is that you need when you are in the company of Alison Eales. Her eloquent sentimentalism stole my heart a long time ago and I won’t be asking for it back anytime soon.
Best Song: “Rain Song”
Verdict: Pure class.
Available from Bandcamp and the other usual places. Also available on vinyl.
