I have a somewhat vague recollection of investigating the ways and means of Rudolf Stener at some in the dim and distant past and it would appear that Polish alt-rock band Kisu Min have been down the same path as I had been with their album “Rudolf Steiner House”.

Integrating the arts into everything to improve people and make the world a better place is a most worthy ambition and, as you might perhaps expect, this approach can lead to the kind of intellectual pondering that musicians in search of meaning would want to turn into song. Kisu Min duly follow this approach with a distinctly studious approach to making music being evident in these thirteen songs and, while the ghost of post punk angularity does indeed haunt the guitars and the lyrics more often approach the philosophical than the poetic, all that is delivered here is both eloquent and focussed.

Undoubtedly, Kisu Min are a band that are willing to place themselves on the meaningful side of the musical spectrum and ears in search of such sustenance will find much to enjoy in “Rudolf Steiner House”.

Best song: “Uncanny Valley”

Verdict: Intellectual.

Available from Bandcamp and the usual digital places.
