I don’t know what they put in the water in Finland but that country seems to have a lot, and I mean a lot, of bands that explore the many facets of classic rock music. Featherfoot are indeed another band that plays in the classic rock style with their special sauce on their self-titled album being a rather reverential take on the psychedelic aspects of their chosen genre.

This album is their debut album yet it certainly does not lack in polish with these five songs easily exceeding the three minute pop song limit on their melodically meandering journey to the nirvana of capturing your attention. It helps if you have an affinity for the sounds of the west coast of America in days gone by when it comes to appreciating where this band want to take you but, even if your tastes are borne of a time other than yesterday, there is much to enjoy in Ville Repo’s vocal extemporisations and, of course, the obligatory and extended guitar solos. Any band that throws in a good guitar solo is just fine with me.

If you like your rock music to ramble and, yet, to do so with purpose then Featherfoot will likely make your ears happy. If drifting away is your thing then you might also find that these five songs will serve your desired purpose too.
