Here at Bluesbunny Towers, we worship the deity that is DIMITRI. No one entity in our urban prison understands the nature of existential conflict better than the deity that is DIMITRI and we are therefore blessed to be blessed with another cassette containing his Kurtz like considerations on matters of the modern world. As the deity that is DIMITRI is also the byword for sharing, this time his companion is the angel Rosey PM and they are collectively known as “The Poisoners”.

The mere fact that these songs are available on cassette is an indication that all DIMITRI reality can certainly be transcoded into the analogue yet, while loops abound within this sonic landscape decorated with inscrutable lyrics, almost ambient melodies and wryly repeated monologues, the end result is not just another ambient album littered with soundbites. The mood is everything and, with spirituality steering the ship, the ocean becomes the dancefloor of your dreams. Come to think of it, there was a time when the stage in every theatre would have a hypnotist on it and, perhaps, DIMITRI was once one of those masters of mystical suggestion.

Truth be told, “The Poisoners” is a fine example of anachronism in a world of predictable mediocrity and, if I ever recover a degree of sanity, I will undoubtedly climb that mountain to worship at the feet of the deity that DIMITRI and the angel that is Rosey PM. In the meantime, the certificate of official ephemera that comes with the cassette will have to suffice.

Available from Bandcamp.
