We are on a musical voyage into the shadows again and Incirrina use their new album “ Trace” to remind us why mean and women should always wear black even when the sun is shining.

This album is also, of course, evidence that Incirrina is unafraid to dip their toes in the waters of coldwave with distinctly bleak lyrics finding themselves floating on a sea populated by the ever dominant sequencer. Listeners familiar with the sounds of the days when synth pop owned the charts will find much that seems familiar but Incirrina show no desire to entertain your ears and make you smile as bands did back then. The atmosphere they create is, instead, one of isolation and disconnection yet it is one that can successfully induce contemplation on matters both serious and metaphysical.

Incirrina - George Katsanos and Irini Tiniakou – may well be dressed permanently in black and their album “Trace” is certainly one that has enough that is concrete within it to make it a child of a city yet there is something almost hypnotic about the way they play their musical game that makes it seem somewhat magical.

The album is available from Bandcamp and the usual digital places.
