This one is pressed on a particularly vile pink vinyl that reminded me of an indigestion remedy. Was it a colour blindness thing or an excess of stomach acid that provoked this choice? Who's to know.

You have to admit that Sexy Kids is not a smart name for a band and I don't suppose that too many people will be typing those words into Google when they are at their work. You might remember the Glasgow Band The Royal We. Well, this band has acquired some members from this departed band.

Let's take a listen at the songs on this slab of vinyl. "Sisters are Forever" is a bit like the Pastels if without the humour recalling, as it does, the glory days of pop music in Glasgow. It's quite a little pop masterpiece that builds up and up just like a good song should do. The best thing about it is the odd, almost ethereal quality to the vocals. Like the Cocteau twins on an angry day, perhaps, but pleasing to the ear nonetheless.

"Drown Me" - on the flipside - is a nice slice of twee pop even if it does seem rather more adventurous than the norm for this particular genre. Actually, it's quite cute in its way.
