And appearing on the UK's cutest record label is Glasgow band The Felt Tips… A rather unusual place to find this band, we think. Wee Pop see little pink fluffy bunnies everywhere and The Felt Tips have this tendency to wrap up some sharp - at times downright acerbic - lyrics in a faux Morrissey croon fest.

"Bought and Sold" is more than a bit Cliff Richard and jolly sixties style cafes if it were not for those ambiguous lyrics. Perhaps not as jolly as it makes itself out to be then? "Love That Never Spoke Its Name" is so Morrissey it hurts (that didn't come out right…) and "The One Who Got Away" is, in its groovy beatnik way, so relentlessly happy that you want to stab it.

I suppose we have got off lightly. Some of the previous releases by this band e.g. "Life Skills" would have given those nice people at Wee Pop a funny turn. A verdict? Listening to this will - fortunately - not turn you into a gladioli powered muppet.

Available from the Wee Pop Records website.
