Do you know where Kilsyth is? Probably not as they hide that particular town behind Cumbernauld (and that's where the road planners of Scotland get to try out their latest jokes - everyone at the driver's expense!). So why the mention of Kilsyth? That's where The Vicounts are from.

"Broken Britain" is the kind of song that gives me hope for music in Scotland. Dragged down under the weight of thousands of angst ridden singer songwriters, I sometimes wonder if we will all drown in a sea of self pity. The Vicounts have different idea - fortunately for u - and "Broken Britain" snarls away in a mighty effective anthem of discontent that keeps it close to things that we all understand. Like cigarettes. They even manage to avoid plundering the Oasis riff book and power the song instead with near punk energy.

I hope they've got more where that song came from.
