Tales of loves lost and found are commonplace in popular music. A topic so often revisited that it has become commonplace. Such matters are brought to our attention by Australian Kate Vigo and she does so in a suitably commercial manner. There are echoes of Laurie Anderson's "Oh Superman" in the intro before the song develops in a Friends friendly way that will cause many a bout of humming in coffee shops throughout the land. I have to admit that I took a liking to Ms Vigo's voice but that nagging feeling of having heard it all before - even if I couldn't say where exactly - did worry me.
"The Way You Are" is what counts as a pop song these days. There I go again, damning things with faint praise…
