A Swedish combo, this lot sounds as if they are stablemates of Scottish band Dropkick with their jangled pop sensibilities. A lo(ish)-fi production with homespun guitars and keyboards, there is a whimsical and enjoyable sense of wonder in many of the ten songs on display here.
Singing in English, songs like "Carrot Cake" and "Time to Die" brush along like a summer's day. The vocals are ever so slightly strained and buried in the mix while the frantic strumming and tic toc drumming evoke the C86 generation of bands and even that sound of young Scotland, Postcard.
Despite an overall similarity in the songs throughout the album, there are one or two that do stand out. For example, "Time to Die" nags and begs to be repeated and "Armadillo Man" - which closes the album - has a more ferocious sound than its predecessors with loud guitars following the quieter verses.
A limited edition of 300 but well worth getting in the queue for. Available from Series Two Records.
