Think I'll have to invent a new musical category here for this 6 track mini album from Nottingham based band Inukshuk. Something like post industrial prog rock. Or I could just call it pretentious.

I'm not quite sure what the actual musical direction of this band is supposed to be. There's  classy ballad called "For You" that you could see going down well in the good old USA but to get to that you have to wade through 3 tracks of rather directionless theatrics in the rock arena. Another ballad follows - "Emulate" - but that song comes across like an awkward demo. Not exactly consistent!

Vocalist Matt Rai shows some promise but it does seem that he has not really found his voice yet and the band suffers as a result. So, I'll class this as showing promise but nothing more than that.

Available from CD Baby.
