Now that the apocalypse is upon us and terror and paranoia run rampant through our streets, it is the ideal time for the return of prog-rock. Or at least a modern day stripped down version of it anyway. There's nothing like some grandiose, way over the top power riffs to stir the blood.

Barring some pretentious - sorry I meant portentous - vocal samples that seem to illustrate that the end is indeed nigh, this is an instrumental set. Melody is not in short supply here (hence the prog-rock reference) and there's also plenty of hardcore guitar riffs to keep you awake. This is a big muscular album that does not fail in its mission to get your attention.

I'll happily admit that this kind of music is not my cup of tea but I also can't deny that this is a well executed album that was actually quite enjoyable to listen to. Perhaps a vocalist would be needed to break the band into the mass market but fans of this kind of thing should be very happy with this album.

Best played loud (but you probably figured that out for yourself).
