No problems with recommending this album. The trademark guitar and the gravel voice welcome us to a remake of his own "Bad Blood". I have been a fan of Son Seals for a long time - Bad Axe being one of my favourite albums of all time.

Despite a couple of filler tracks (Osceola Rock, in particular), the quality remains high throughout. The real gem is "Dear Son". A song about your woman leaving you is standard blues fare but here it seems heartfelt with a red hot guitar solo. Maybe that is the secret that the old guard of bluesmen have - they can make everything they sing about seem real.

Son ventures into familiar territory again on the final track "Funky Bitch", leaving us on a high. The album was co-produced by Son Seals and Jimmy Vivino. Being on the Telarc label, this album should be relatively easy to find.

We no longer have Son Seals with us but his music will live on.
