Most bands save releasing demos until that end of career retrospective box set. However, Series Two have released an album containing ten demos from twee pop maestro Desmond Reed. You remember him? He brought us the trivial but truly surreal "Guinea Pigs" (it's on this album too).
I'm not really sure what the point of this release is. The twee pop genre is not generally known for ornate productions so none of these songs seem that different from the released versions except for having even worse sound quality.
I like Desmond Reed but this is surely one for his diehard fans only. Mind you, I suppose it saves you from trawling the Internet and buying his songs from half a dozen different labels.
