Even in these times of recession, there seems to be no shortage of releases from small record labels at the lo-fi indie pop end of the musical spectrum and so from Series Two Records (in the USA) and Eggnog Records (in Australia) comes the "Wizard in Fire EP" from Sweden's Robert Church and the Holy Community.

This EP is hardly a genre busting affair being catchy, full of recycled riffs  and yet remaining light as a feather. True, "Old Friend" is a bit too familiar but "Larusso" manages to be just a wee bit offbeat with an almost - deliberately? - inept guitar balancing its "angry bear…" refrain. The star of the show is the final track, "Panda Love", that takes off up an electro dark alley occupied by the ghosts of the Yellow Magic Orchestra and hundreds of long forgotten would be rock guitarists. It's groovy!

This endearing release comes as a sweet little 3" inch CD and is a limited edition of 50 copies.
